  • This was NOT a ransomware attack or a cyberattack.
  • Services are now operating on upgraded infrastructure.
  • Users should experience improved system performance and responsiveness.

Summary

Galaxy was alerted via our monitoring system of a partial failure of a storage array that impacted the environment where the System Galaxy ‘services’ are hosted. These services are responsible for connecting to the hardware controllers and hosting the web-based user interface (LaunchPoint). No user data is stored in this environment. All data and the System Galaxy Database are stored in a separate, clustered, high-availability environment that was unaffected by the storage issue.

While working with the hosted vendor, access to the environment was restored. Once restored, Galaxy was operating under the expected Disaster Recovery protocol. In evaluating the performance of the environment rebuild, Galaxy personnel decided to start work in parallel to migrate to a new environment. This new environment was ready and prepared for a planned migration slated for Q3 2026. Although this meant more work for Galaxy, the benefits of a newer, faster environment were worth it.

Users can expect faster response times in the LaunchPoint application, and administrators will have a better experience when accessing the backend.

Galaxy did see an OOPS message on a LaunchPoint screen for some systems. This issue has been resolved for all affected systems.

The Galaxy team would like to thank you for your understanding and continued support.
